Often people who meet me now tell me that I have such a calm presence.
But I wasn’t always like this.
Many years ago I had debilitating anxiety. It would start early in the morning and be with me for most of the day, until it would finally calm down in the late afternoon or early evening. But the next day it would start all over again.
I meditated, which helped some; I did all sorts of personal development work to help me actively shift my thoughts and made me feel better some; but what made the most dramatic shift was when I learned the HeartMath® tools.
It didn’t work overnight, although I felt instantly better each time I practiced. But over time I realized I no longer woke up with anxiety. I noticed I slept better and felt calmer.
My relationships with my children and husband became smoother, to the point that my eldest daughter (in her teens at the time) exclaimed to her friend, “I’m so annoyed with my Mom! She never gets angry with me!”
To this date I still count this as my greatest achievement!
